Michele Martin, Office Manager
I joined Dr. Flury's staff in 1999 after a long break from the dental field to raise my kids. My past experience included working in a General Dentist office and at the University of Michigan Dental School as a dental assistant. I made a great decision to reply to the Want Ad for a front desk position in a "no stress dental office". I feel very fortunate to be working in a beautiful office with dedicated, hardworking co-workers and a boss who is fun but more important a top notch dentist. The patients are the heart of our office and I have grown very attached. I have watched children grow up and shared so many milestones in patient's lives. I enjoy greeting them and assisting them with scheduling. I work very hard to keep accurate patient and insurance records and welcome any questions regarding insurance or billing.
I have been married to my husband Randy since 1977 and we have three great adult children, Eddie, Emily and Eric. Our family grew in 2010 when Emily married Michael and again in 2015 when Eddie married Rebecca. Although I am now used to empty nest syndrome, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my kids. My other interest include traveling, vacationing at Torch Lake, church activities and I love HGTV.
Mary Jerome Whiting, Business Coordinator
It seems like yesterday I came to work for Dr. Flury. I have enjoyed these 19 years working with all my wonderful co-workers and terrific patients. While working for Penny I became certified in Dental Radiology and CPR and learned the field of dental assisting. I enjoy working at the front desk getting to know all the patients, providing clerical support , trouble shooting problems with the computer and assisting the Doctors.
I am married and have three wonderful children , one beautiful granddaughter and a grandson due in May of 2016. My interests include reading, painting, camping, traveling and spending time with my family.
Amber R. Hale, Dental Assistant
Before I worked in the dental field, I worked as a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines. Shortly after the tragic September 11, 2001, I was laid off from the airline industry. I started working as a hygiene assistant, then moved into dental assisting. There, I learned the basics about dentistry. I am x-ray certified and trained in the fabrication of temporary restorations. I enjoy the variety of working with the dentist. Although I did give the airline industry one more go, I decided that my lifestyle as a flight attendant was too fast-paced for my growing family. I hung my wings up for the last time in August of 2007.
My family has since grown. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters. Occasionally, when I daydream about the places that I have had the opportunity to travel to, I look at my daughter's faces and know that I have made the right decision.
Karen M. McBride, R.D.H., B.S.
Since I was five years old I have wanted to become a dental hygienist. In my last two years of high school (1984-1986) I volunteered as a surgical assistant at Veterans Hospital in the oral surgery department. I realized that I enjoyed helping people improve their dental health, so I pursued my education in dental hygiene at the University of Detroit. I received my dental hygiene certificate in 1989 and my Bachelor's degree in 1990.
I was treasurer for Detroit District Dental Hygiene Society from 1990-1993. I was also a clinical instructor (1990-1992) at the University of Detroit dental school. I worked downriver for 19 years in a general practice, but I wanted to be closer to my family. I came to work at Dr. Flury's office and I have been here for 5 years. I absolutely love my job!
I am happily married and have triplet daughters. This is the year they will be heading off to college two at University of Michigan and one at Ferris.
Danielle M. Kieltyka, R.D.H.,B.S.
Growing up, I spent a lot of time in a dental chair and at the orthodonitist, from that grew a fascination with teeth. After my first year of college, I began working at a dental office where helping people with their oral health and educating them became my passion. I attended dental hygiene school at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene. I am also licensed to administer nitrous oxide and anesthesia. During the summer of my senior year I traveled to South Dakota and worked for three weeks on an Indian reservation. Over those weeks, we worked with a lot of children and educated parents on the importance of oral health. I learned a lot from this amazing experience that I have and will continue to incorporate in my career.
In February of 2010 I received the call I was hoping for, Dr. Flury needed a hygienist. I began my career filling in for vacations and sick days. In July of 2010 I was offered a permanent position in this office. Working with such a wonderful staff and terrific patients makes coming to work a joy!
In June of 2012 I married Chris after 9 years of dating. We bought a home in Livonia and we are enjoying the love of our life Lloyd our Boston Terrier puppy. We enjoy spending time with family, especially my new niece, and friends, traveling, and going up north to the cabin in Beaverton .
Chelsie L. Mully, R.D.H.,B.S.
I have always loved going to the dentist, but my fascination with teeth really started once I had braces put on in 8th grade. My orthodontist was amazing and encouraged me to look into a career in dental hygiene. I am so appreciative that he helped steer me into the world of dentistry. I am, of course, thankful to my parents as well for paying for my beautiful smile.
I attended the University of Michigan Ann Arbor where I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Dental Hygiene and graduated in 2007. I had an amazing opportunity to be a student dental hygienist at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor. The veterans were incredible to work with. I learned so much and felt honored when they shared their stories of survival and strength.
I have been very happily married since October 2009. We bought our house in Canton in April 2010. As homeownership goes, we have a list of renovations we are always working on. It has been a great journey so far and we take pride in seeing the changes we have made.
I am so happy to be working in Plymouth. I love this downtown area so much! We have the best staff and I couldn't ask for a better group to work with. I really enjoy working with my patients and helping to change the way they feel about their smiles through education and a trusting relationship.
Jaclyn Hofman, R.D.H.,B.S.
In 2009, I earned my Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan. While in college, I developed a love for working with underserved groups. This brought on several opportunities to work with community and public dental health programs including an externship at the Pine Ridge Reservation. Shortly after graduating, I moved to Chicago for my first full time postion as a dental hygienist. This was an amazing opportunity to experience life in the big city as well as gain valuable work experience in dentistry.
In the spring of 2012, my husband and I decided to move back to Michigan to be closer to family. I had always heard wonderful things about Dr. Flury and was thrilled to quickly find a position here for myself shortly after moving back to the area. In May 2015, we were thrilled to welcome our son, Jack, into the world! We live in my home town of Belleville with our miniature schnauzer, Kota, named after my husband's home state of South Dakota. We both enjoy golfing, attending U of M and Detroit sporting events, and traveling!
